hi, i'm jeff grimm the co-owner of lifetimeinsurance services and today we are going to focus on one small tip and help you lowerthe cost of your michigan auto insurance policy. stay tuned.welcome back. today we are going to focus on one small tip that can help lower yourmichigan auto insurance rate. we often find that our clients aren't educated on this particulartopic. until they speak with us that is! the main topic we are going to discuss isthe difference between broad collision and standard collision coverage (regular collision).we find that most people don't know what type of coverage they have until we take the timeto review their policy with them. about 50% of the time we find they have broad collisioncoverage and the other 50% of the time regular
or standard collision coverage. so what'sthe difference? well with broad collision you will only pay your deductible if you areat fault in the accident. with regular collision or standard collision you will pay the deductibleupfront regardless of who is at fault. however, as long as you have a finger to point at theat fault party...you know their name, contact info, and the name of their insurance companyyou can go after their insurance company to collect up to $1,000. ultimately that wouldhelp pay your deductible for you. so the end result could be the same...no money out ofpocket if you aren't at fault in the accident. there are some downsides to standard or regularcollision that need to be considered. let's say you are involved in a hit and run or theat fault party is uninsured. in this scenario
there is no insurance company to collect from.as a result you would be out of pocket your deductible. selecting standard collision overbroad collision can save you a good sum of money and that is the option i have personallychosen over the years for my michigan auto insurance policy. i look at it like this...i have been driving now for almost 20 years and i have never been in an accident wherei didn't know who the at fault party was. so to me it is worth the added risk to savesome money. if you don't know what type of coverage you have take a moment to pull outyour policy or give your agent a call today to discuss it. if you currently have broadcollision coverage on your michigan car insurance policy you may want to consider switchingto standard collision and pocketing the savings.
i hope you enjoyed the free tip and it ultimatelyputs more money back in your wallet. if you are interested in a free auto insurance, homeinsurance, life insurance, or business insurance quote be sure to visit our website or giveus a call today at (888) 972-8896.
